Doing good goes online.  Not only money is being increasingly donated online, there are also more and more online platforms to organize and promote engagement in the widest sense.

For example the betterplace lab conceptualized the website for the Big Jump Challenge 2012.  Over 50 teams registered on the site and on the 17th of June 2012 at 3 o’clock they all jumped into rivers and lakes across the whole of Germany to highlight the lack of attention being given to water conservation in the country.  Think Big is also a good example of an engagement platform.

So how does engagement function on the Internet? What should one consider when such companies finance platforms and “brand” them with the corporate look and campaign shape? How large is the editing effort when lots of people bring their content and comments (keywords community management).  Betterplace lab developed a study on these questions:
