Digital Foundations

Joana Breidenbach, founder of the betterplace lab, organized the first workshop on digital foundations in November 2011 in collaboration with the Mercator foundation. The response was great and increased interest on the topic.

We did another workshop - this time together with Anja Adler - at the re:campaign 2012 where there were so many people in the audience that many had to sit on the floor.  Anja Adler had done an educational trip to the United States beforehand and reported that the foundations there are taking a much greater advantage of the participatory opportunities provided by the Internet, Facebook, Twitter and other social services to democratize the allocation process aid and generate helpful feedback.
