FLIP Video Contest
We've counted all the votes! The winner is HCFA Goat Project!
Eleven betterplace.org projects were selected to receive FLIP video cameras and to document their work with short films. Some of the projects met with troubles and could not submit their films on time for the contest, but others are shown here in our YouTube playlist. Users could vote for their favorite film.

Togo Nursery School Project is a project collaboration with agbe e.V. which, together with the people of Tomegbé, Togo, has built a nursery school for 150 children. The people believe that this project will not only benefit the children of the region who, due to poor hygenic conditions often do not survive until grade school, but the mothers and entire communities will benefit as well, since the mothers will have more time to work and gain independence to help build the community while their children are in a safe place. The teachers for the school are local people from Tomegbé as well, and the school is sustainably supported by renting solar powered lamps to the community. SAEP High School Environment Project is dedicated to helping children and young adults in Cape Town's historically disadvantaged township communities develop their academic and life skills, obtain productive employment, and contribute as leaders to the economic and social development of their communities and their country. In this video, students build a sculpture from waste products, following the Quad-R principle: re-cycle, re-think, re-duce, and re-use. Though we received this video a bit late, we are going to shut our eyes and let them enter the FLIP contest. You can visit the SAEP projects on betterplace.org.
